Your first visit to Oklahoma Smiles General Dentistry is designed to be thorough, comfortable, and completely pressure-free. Dr. James Hulsey and our team take time to get to know you, your dental history, your concerns, and your goals, before recommending any treatment.
During your initial appointment, we’ll complete a comprehensive oral exam, digital X-rays, and an oral cancer screening. This gives Dr. Hulsey a full picture of your current oral health so he can create a care plan that’s truly tailored to your needs. We believe in educating our patients at every step, so you’ll leave understanding exactly where your oral health stands and what your options are.
Whether you’re coming in for a routine checkup or have specific concerns you’d like addressed, we’re here to listen. Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with every patient; one built on trust, transparency, and exceptional care.

We accept Humana, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, and Delta Dental, as well as HSA and FSA payments. For patients without insurance or those seeking additional flexibility, we offer payment options designed to fit a variety of budgets.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, your dental insurance card (if applicable), and any relevant medical or dental history you’d like to share. If you’ve had recent X-rays from a previous dentist, we’re happy to accept those as well. Arriving a few minutes early gives our team time to get you checked in and comfortable before your appointment begins.
Do you accept new patients without insurance?
Absolutely. We welcome patients with and without insurance. For uninsured patients, we’re happy to walk you through our payment options and help you find a plan that fits your budget. We also accept HSA and FSA payments. Our goal is to make quality dental care accessible to everyone in the Oklahoma City community.
